“Encounters 2” by Chris Devour is a limited edition print that explores the delicate interplay between constraint and desire. Captured in natural light, the work eschews digital manipulation, preserving the authenticity of the moment and challenging the viewer to confront the rawness of human experience.
Devour’s work interrogates self-expression under societal restrictions, seeking not to provoke but to reveal the entwined histories of religious iconography and eroticism. Each image emerges as a bold act of reclamation, inviting reflection on the right to self-representation.
Incorporating elements of graphic design and collage, the piece traverses from digital to analogue, embracing imperfection and materiality. Its presence is both a visual statement and a conversation starter, perfect for those seeking art with depth and narrative.
